Individual Tanks

By equiping the laboratory with a large number of tanks students are able to see many of the more reticent animals at close range as well as design and conduct their own experiments (subject to strict ethical guidelines).

These tanks also allow much closer observation of the behaviours and structures of many animals in a manner not possible in the aquarium.

Microscopes

With the provision of binocular microscopes a range of investigations are possible. Cellular processes such as osmosis are easily viewed, and detailed dissection of smaller organisms or organs can be conducted with ease.

Digital video microscopes and underwater cameras enable students to see the smallest animal on screen or to record the images for use in their own presentations.

Data-Logging Equipment

This extremely accurate and easy to use equipment allows long and short term projects to be established without requiring constant monitoring. Once set up, the data logger will record the desired parameters to file for later analysis back in the classroom.

Data such as movement and activity, humidity, temperature and dissolved oxygen can be displayed in real-time, on easy to read digital displays.
