There is a special feed at 11am every day and this will generally consist of either an eel feed or a flatfish display feed depending on the day or the presence of a group. If you are wanting to view a particular feed please feel free to contact staff on (03) 377 9196 to clarify when the next feed of your preference will occur.

- Eel Feed
This will take the form of either a top feed or a dive depending on attendance or the presence of a group.

The dive involves one of our Aquarists being inside the tank and feeding these huge denizens of the not-so deep with their bare hands- definitely a high point of any visit to the aquarium. Please ring to confirm when the next scheduled dive will be taking place to avoid disappointment.

- Flatfish Feed
This is the feeding of our second largest marine display and is guaranteed to cause an excited flurry of activity within seconds.

This display is where we house the less aggressive and generally more endearing fish such as the porcupinefish (Allomycterus jaculiferus) who has big brown eyes large enough to make a cow proud!
